Sean Worrall - Pronouncing Flesh Layers - acrylic, ink, gloss varnish, on found booklet, 12x17cm (2026)

Another publication that I guess dates from the 1950s. An unwanted booklet that was being thrown away at the end of a flea market in East London: A publication on French language pronounciation from Hugo's Language Institute (London), and, as was the case with the other found books that have been painted on so far in this (ongoing) series. it couldn't just be left to go into landfill. The booklet, 12x17cm, is still readable, the inside is all intact. The now seventy year old publication has seen better days, the pages are all delightfully intact, rather fragile, rather yellowing and slightly musty (that adds to it if you ask me).

I've painted on the front paper cover, acrylic, ink, gloss varnish, signed with an 's' on the front and signed in full on the inside, there's a short note about it on the inside back cover.
