Soul Time - Electric Painting No.33 - Acrylic, gloss varnish on canvas, 20cm x 20cm x 1cm (May 2023) - A new Electric painting, a series of paintings that started before last years "Electric" edition of the Art Car Boot Fair". Not an interpretation of an Electric album cover (as the previous 32 paintings have been) this 33rd time was more a case of a fast painting while listening to Shirley Ellis and her classic slice of Northern Soul that was and is Soul Train, that and Tony Clark's Landslide, The Night and while The M.V.Ps were Turning My Heartbeat Up and listening to the crash of cymbals and.... Whatever happened to Steve Soul anyway? Steve educated me in terms of Northern Soul and dragged me off to hunt for records while I tried and failed to educate him in terms of punk rock, heavy metal and such (search out the Whatever happened to Steve Soul anyway? playlist on Spotify and that numbers explain themselves) , always had a place for some classic Northern Soul, never perfected the moves, I was more of a lurker on the edges watching back there...
